Approximate Liquidation Price Calculator for Leverage

How far can the price move against you before your trade is liquidated? This is an approximate educational tool for isolated margin and not a substitute for your platform's calculator.

Enter the entry price

A simplified approximate calculation that ignores fees, funding rate and differences between platform formulas. The actual liquidation price on your platform may differ, so rely on what it shows before the trade.

How is it calculated?

In the simplified isolated-margin formula, the liquidation point for a long is at entry price × (1 − 1/leverage + maintenance margin), and for a short at entry price × (1 + 1/leverage − maintenance margin). So with 10x leverage a move of about 9.5% against you is enough.

Why is it approximate?

Each platform has its own formula and maintenance margin tiers, and fees, funding rate and position size matter. Use the tool to understand the size of the risk, not to set your orders.

Warning

Leverage is one of the riskiest forms of trading and you can lose your entire margin quickly. Read the leverage risks article before any trade.
