Average Buy Price Calculator
Bought the same coin several times at different prices? Enter each purchase to find your true average buy price and the total you paid.
How is the average calculated?
Average buy price = total paid ÷ total quantity. It is not a simple average of prices but a quantity-weighted one, so buying a larger amount counts more. Example: 2 units at 100 then 8 units at 50 gives (200+400) ÷ 10 = $60, not $75.
Why care about your average?
It gives you the break-even price the market must pass for you to profit, and it helps with a dollar-cost-averaging plan and tax calculations. You may also want to add fees to the cost for a more accurate result.
